Clinical Studies and Ultrasonographic Findings in Uterine Myoma


Abstract
The authors have experienced 101 cases of myoma of the uterus during 4 years period from January 1984 to December 1988.
The following results have been obtained.
1. The frequency of myoma was much higher (58.4%) especially between the age of 40 and 49, the next between 30 and 39 years of age.
2. The parity showed 28.7% were 3, ranked first follow by 18.8% were 4, in orr er of frequency. 3. The chief complaints were abdominal pain and discomfort (30.6%), p. pable mass (17.8%) in order of frequency.
4. The location of myoma was most common in the corporeal (84.1%), cervix (9.9¡Æo) and cervico-corporeal (6%) in order of frequency.
5. The type of myoma consist of intramural (79.2%), subserous (9.9%), submuc. (6. 9%) and mixed (3.9%) in order of frequency.
6. Total abdominal hysterectomy was performed in 78.2% of all cases, total vaginal hysterectomy in 20.7% and myomectomy in 1%.
7. Echo pattern of uterine myoma showed less echogenic pattern (69.3%) ranke o first follow by echogenic pattern (19.8%) in order of frequency.
8. In ultrasonographic findings showed enlarged uterine picture (89.1%) and pict re of bladder distorsion (69.3%).
9. Picture of posterior wall of uterine myoma showed hazy (56.4%) ranked first follow by unclear (35.6%) in, order of frequency.
